Player Customization
FluentPlayer gives you precise control over how the player looks and behaves across your entire site — from the visual skin and control layout to playback behaviors and branding. This section covers everything related to the player's appearance and behavior.
Looking for email capture or CTAs?
Engagement overlays (email capture, CTA, action bar, email providers) have moved to Engagement & Conversion. This section covers visual and behavioral customization only.
How customization works
FluentPlayer uses a two-level system:
Presets: Reusable player templates that define the skin, controls, and behaviors. Think of a preset as a "profile" for how the player looks and acts. Any video assigned to a preset inherits its settings.
Per media overrides: When editing a specific media item, you can override any preset setting for that video only. For example, you might use the Modern preset everywhere but disable autoplay for one particular tutorial.
The priority order:
Per media overrides → Preset settings → Global defaults (Settings)Where to find customization settings
| Location | What you can configure |
|---|---|
| FluentPlayer → Settings → General | Default preset for the whole site |
| FluentPlayer → Settings → Branding | Site-wide brand color, logo, and control bar color |
| FluentPlayer → Media → Edit a media | Override preset, skin, controls, and behaviors for one video |
| Preset configuration (Pro) | Create and edit fully custom presets |
